We are a non-profit parenting program focused on providing quality programming and resources for young children & those who care for them.
The Neighborhood Parenting Program began in the 1980's to support the early development of children and those who cared for them.
As one of the original parents involved says, "NPP holds a special spot in my heart. I became involved with NPP 24 years ago when it was a part of Booth Maternity Center. I started with my son at the original satellite program in Lawncrest. NPP is an excellent program that should really serve as a model for other programs to help parents."
We believe that by understanding how children grow through different stages and building a support network for both the adults and the children they care for, we help create stronger families.
Raising children can be challenging!! You never know what to expect sometimes and having others to talk to can help!
Another parent echoes this sentiment: "Thank you so much for everything you've done for me and my kids...all the great advice, and wonderful ear to hear my issues. I remember being so lonely at home with my new baby Eddie and not knowing anyone, and you and your playgroup crew welcomed me and my baby boy...and now there's three. I can't believe how quickly time has passed!"
Research has shown that when adults have reasonable expectations of childrens' behaviors based on good child development information, stress levels decrease in both the adult and the child!
We seek to make these early years ones to be enjoyed as much as possible!!
